Harry Kane ‘more than welcome’ at Tottenham, says Spurs coach Thomas Frank

Tottenham manager Thomas Frank spoke ahead of his side’s League Cup third-round tie against Doncaster about reports of a possible return for Harry Kane to Spurs, something that would make the Danish manager very happy.

Tottenham face Doncaster Rovers in the third round of the League Cup, and Thomas Frank said he could handle the pressure of winning titles before his team begins their bid to win the title against the League One side.

In addition, the Danish coach was asked at a press conference about rumours of a possible return of Harry Kane to Tottenham, after reports emerged in recent days about the English striker’s £56.7 million release clause.

“I didn’t know there was a clause,” Frank said. “He is an unbelievable player who did fantastic for Spurs and is doing fantastic for Bayern. Top player. I think there’s a lot of Tottenham fans, including myself, who would like to see Kane back.

“Personally, I don’t think he will do it right now if I’m honest. He’ll probably stay in Bayern and continue performing well. He was top scorer last year, won the championship and he’s doing fantastic now.

“I don’t know what he’s thinking. Myself, I’m a traveller, I like to travel, I like to explore things as well. He’s been here for many years so why not enjoy the time at Bayern a little bit more? But he’s welcome. If he wants to join us, he’s more than welcome!”
