Mosquera pushes for Arsenal move as fresh talks with Valencia loom

Cristhian Mosquera has made his intentions clear. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the 21-year-old defender wants to join Arsenal, with personal terms already agreed for several weeks.

Despite Valencia’s hopes of extending his contract, the Spanish youth international has ruled out signing a new deal, reinforcing his desire to take the next step in north London.

Arsenal are expected to return to the negotiating table next week after seeing an initial €14 million bid rejected. A second offer, reportedly worth around €20 million, reflects both the club’s determination and the player’s growing value — underlined by his 90 senior appearances and a standout showing against England in the European Under-21 Championship.

Valencia remain firm in their valuation, citing his experience and homegrown status, but the pressure is mounting as the player remains committed solely to the Arsenal project. Sources suggest the defender views the move as essential to his development, especially within Mikel Arteta’s youth-focused rebuild.

Should the deal be finalised, Mosquera would join Viktor Gyokeres as part of a bold summer strategy at the Emirates. Arsenal’s intent to strengthen in key areas early in the window signals a club fully focused on bridging the gap at the top of the Premier League.
