Spurs’ Palhinha claimed Wolves draw ‘feels like a loss’

Joao Palhinha admitted Tottenham’s late equaliser against Wolverhampton Wanderers brought little satisfaction, insisting “it is a draw that feels like a loss” for the London side.

Tottenham Hotspur were held to a late 1-1 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers, as Joao Palhinha’s stoppage-time strike failed to mask his disappointment with the result.

Palhinha reflected after the match, “I am not happy at all to be honest. Those are the games we need to win, especially when we play at home”. Spurs began brightly, enjoying a strong first half, yet struggled to convert chances and were punished when Wolves took the lead in the second half.

He emphasised the importance of greater composure during setbacks, noting, “When you are losing 1-0 to these kinds of teams, we need to push on the pitch”.

The Portuguese midfielder added, “It is not going to be easy, we knew it. Of course, I am really sad. This result is mandatory for us in these games. It is a draw that feels like a loss”.

Despite fighting until the final whistle, Palhinha made clear that standards at Tottenham require victories in such fixtures, particularly at home.
