According to ‘Bild’, Bayern Munich honorary president Uli Hoeness was hospitalized on Saturday after suffering a burst vein. Fortunately, he was discharged that evening and is doing well.
Bayern Munich got quite a scare with Uli Hoeness. The honorary president of the Bavarian club, who was attending a charity golf tournament on Saturday, had to be hospitalized due to a ruptured vein, according to the newspaper ‘Bild’.
The source said that Hoeness, who was at the event with club president Herbert Hainer, was taken by ambulance to the hospital in the early afternoon. He was discharged in the evening and left the hospital to go home.
Hoeness is doing well, which is reassuring news for both the club and the fans. It should be remembered that the German was a Bayern player between 1970 and 1978 and, when he retired, he held various positions within the institution.
He began as general manager of the club in 1979 and later became president in 2009, a position he held until 2019. Once that year arrived, he became honorary president, a position he currently holds.
