OFFICIAL: Thierno Barry swaps Villarreal for Everton

Everton have this Wednesday announced the signing of Thierno Barry, who has penned a deal until 30th June 2029. The French forward moves to the Premier League, with the deal seeing €32.5 million head to the Estadio de la Cerámica up front, plus a further €5.5 million in variables.

Everton have their new star striker in Thierno Barry. The French footballer is leaving La Liga and embarking on a Premier League adventure at their soon-to-be-opened stadium, with the deal injecting over €30 million into Villarreal’s coffers.

The Toffees are adding a potent attacking threat, with the player signing a guaranteed four-year contract until 30th June 2029. The total value of the deal could reach €38 million: €32.5 million guaranteed plus €5.5 million in add-ons.

“Everton are a massive club in the Premier League. They have a rich history and some great strikers have played here. Wayne Rooney, Romelu Lukaku… when I was younger, I loved watching those players. Now I want to emulate them,” he told Everton’s official media channels.

Thierno Barry leaves Villarreal having scored eleven goals and provided four assists in 37 competitive appearances. He is yet another striker who has generated a healthy transfer fee for the club, with the money heading into the Estadio de la Cerámica’s savings account as he jets off to the bright lights of the Premier League.
