Marcus Rashford has expressed his admiration for Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal and his openness to a move to the Catalan club, while his future at Manchester United remains unresolved amid ongoing transfer speculation.
Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford has expressed his desire to play alongside Barcelona’s young star Lamine Yamal.
In a recent interview with Spanish influencer Javi Ruiz, Rashford said: “Yes, for sure, Everyone wants to play with the best. Hopefully… we’ll see.”
The 27-year-old England attacker is currently undergoing fitness training in Spain as he waits for his future to be clarified following a positive loan spell at Aston Villa.
Rashford praised Yamal’s impact on both Barca and the Spanish national team: “[It is] difficult to put into words what he is doing. He is not supposed to be doing that at 16-17 [years of age]. We have not seen that before. It is a skill to be able to play at that age with that mentality.”
Rashford’s future at Manchester United is uncertain, with the club open to listening to offers and the player having conveyed to those around him his preference to join Barca.
Meanwhile, Barcelona are still interested in Rashford, although they are currently prioritising the signing of Nico Williams and the financial situation could condition any deal.
The player’s entourage have reiterated that they are willing to reduce his salary to facilitate a possible transfer to the Catalan club.
