Club World Cup: Man City, Chelsea and Real Madrid step up preparations in training

Man City, Chelsea and Real Madrid – featuring new signing Trent Alexander-Arnold – have been taking part in training sessions around the USA ahead of their opening round of matches in the FIFA Club World Cup next week.

Chelsea, who face Los Angeles at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Monday, took part in final preparations at their training base at Philadelphia Union’s training facility in Chester.

Among those joining the squad was a youthful contingent of new signings: 22-year-old Liam Delap, 19-year-old goalkeeper Mike Penders, 20-year-old defender Mamadou Sarr, 20-year-old midfielder Dario Essugo, and 21-year-old Andrey Santos.

“I feel proud. It is the first, and everything is new for us. So we must adapt as quickly as possible to make sure we are ready,” manager Enzo Maresca told Chelsea.com.
