Cristiano Ronaldo has taken another significant step toward the 1,000-goal milestone. The Portuguese superstar was on the scoresheet in Al-Nassr’s 2-0 victory over Al-Ahli SFC this Wednesday, reaching 971 official goals for club and country. The match’s other goal was converted by Frenchman Kingsley Coman.
This Round 30 result in the Saudi Pro League consolidated Al-Nassr’s lead at the summit, moving them to 79 points. The side remains clear of Al-Hilal, who sit second with 71 points and a game in hand, while Al-Ahli SFC occupy third with 66 points and a pending fixture of their own.
Now in his fourth season in Saudi football, the iconic number seven is chasing his first domestic title in the country. Under the tutelage of Portuguese manager Jorge Jesus, Al-Nassr’s silverware hopes remain alive on multiple fronts, including the Champions League Two final against Japan’s Gamba Osaka, scheduled for May 16th.
The prolific forward now requires just 29 more strikes to reach the historic landmark of 1,000 official goals.
