Following Tudor’s sacking, Luciano Spalletti takes over the reins at Juventus until the end of the season. The Tuscan coach’s debut will be in the weekend’s away match against Cremonese.
Just days after Igor Tudor’s dismissal, which came after a negative run of eight matches without a victory, Juventus have chosen their new manager until the end of the season: Luciano Spalletti.
The coach from Certaldo had been without a job since June, after a disappointing spell in charge of the Italian national team. Arriving with great expectations after winning the Scudetto with Napoli, Spalletti was relieved of his duties after a 3-0 defeat against Norway, which jeopardized Italy’s qualification for the World Cup, with Gennaro Gattuso called in to replace him.
After a few months awaiting a new opportunity, Spalletti arrives at Juventus, taking advantage of the ‘Bianconeri’s delicate moment. With the Tudor chapter closed, the Turin club is counting on the Tuscan coach’s experience to lift the team’s morale. They are currently eighth in the Serie A table, with the aim of returning to the top of the league.
According to ‘Sky Sport’, the agreement includes a contract until June 2026 worth 3 million euros, with an option to renew in case of qualification for the next Champions League.
After the interim experience of Brambilla, who led the team in the match against Udinese, Spalletti will debut this weekend in the away match against Cremonese.
