OFFICIAL: Nottingham Forest announce Sean Dyche as their third coach of the season

Sean Dyche has officially been announced as the new manager of Nottingham Forest. The former Burnley and Everton boss signs a contract until 2027, becoming the third manager of the Tricky Trees this season.

Nottingham Forest announced on Tuesday the appointment of Sean Dyche as their new head coach following the dismissal of Ange Postecoglou.

Dyche will be the third manager of the Tricky Trees this season, following Postecoglou himself, who was sacked after failing to secure a single victory in eight matches, and Nuno Espirito Santo, who departed after disagreements with the board, despite achieving the team’s best results in several decades and guiding them to European qualification.

Despite rumours linking Roberto Mancini with the role, Forest have opted for Dyche, handing him a one-and-a-half-year contract until 2027.

Dyche returns to the Premier League after previous spells with Burnley, where he spent a decade, and Everton, whom he managed between January 2023 and January 2025.

Forest, who have only won one Premier League match this season, sit eighteenth in the table with five points, two adrift of safety. They have already been knocked out of the EFL Cup and have one point in the Europa League after drawing against Real Betis and losing against Danish side Midtjylland.
