Atletico Madrid were forced to leave the Emirates Stadium without showering after training, due to a lack of hot water throughout the Arsenal stadium.
A problem in the Emirates Stadium dressing rooms, which were without hot water for 45 minutes, has marred Atletico Madrid’s training session, who returned to the hotel without showering.
Diego Simeone’s men trained on Monday afternoon at the Arsenal stadium, ahead of Tuesday’s match between the two teams, and expressed their annoyance at the lack of hot water in the dressing room after the session.
According to sources consulted by ‘EFE’, Atletico Madrid reported the lack of hot water minutes after the start of the training session. The problem had occurred in both dressing rooms, both home and away, so it was not exclusive to the one Atletico were using.
By the time Arsenal fixed the problem, Atletico had already finished their training, 15 minutes earlier than planned, and made the decision to return to the hotel in their bus upon discovering the lack of hot water. Arsenal have apologised to the players and coaching staff of Atletico Madrid.
