In the third round, the Derby d’Italia pits Juventus, the only team still unbeaten and with a clean sheet, against Inter, the league’s top-scoring side with six goals scored.
The first major clash of the season arrives as early as matchday three: on Saturday at 18:00, Juventus and Inter will face off at the Allianz Stadium in one of the most eagerly awaited matches of the campaign.
Juventus, led by Igor Tudor, comes into the Derby d’Italia with a perfect start: two wins, three goals scored and none conceded. The ‘Bianconeri’ beat Parma 2-0 on the opening day and won by a narrow margin away to Genoa.
With the return of Gleison Bremer and the assurance of Di Gregorio between the posts, the team seems to have rediscovered the impenetrable wall that for years set the standard in Europe, reaching the first international break with a clean sheet. Three goals scored and zero conceded are worth six points, and along with Roma, Juventus is the only team yet to concede a goal in this early stage of the season.
Inter, meanwhile, despite having scored twice as many goals, has collected half the points: a resounding 5-0 win over Torino on the opening day, followed by a 2-1 defeat against Udinese. Thuram, with two goals, and Lautaro, with one, have already made their mark and promise fireworks.
With six goals in two matches, Cristian Chivu’s new Inter leads the list of top-scoring attacks, turning the Derby d’Italia into a crucial clash: the best attack against the best defence.
