Lamine Yamal posts message to ‘Cules’ after Barca’s Champions League exit, vowing to learn from mistakes and promising to bring the trophy to the Catalan capital.
Following FC Barcelona’s elimination at the hands of Atletico Madrid, one of the most sought-after figures was Lamine Yamal. The ‘Blaugrana’ forward scored and spearheaded a comeback attempt, but Ademola Lookman’s goal and Eric Garcia’s red card complicated matters. After a few hours to process, the Hospitalet-born player shared a message with his supporters.
Via Instagram, Lamine Yamal pledged to keep fighting no matter the cost: “We gave everything, but it wasn’t enough. This is just part of the journey; to reach the top, you have to climb, and we know it won’t be easy, nor will they make it easy for us. But giving up is not an option.”
“We have plenty of reasons to be excited, and we’re going after them with everything we have. Every mistake is a lesson, and rest assured we will learn from each one,” Lamine continued.
The 18-year-old forward echoed his sentiments from last season, when Barca fell to Inter Milan in the semi-finals, promising to return with the trophy in hand: “We are Barca, and we will return to where we belong. My parents taught me that a man’s word is always kept… and we will bring it to Barcelona. Sempre Barca.”
