Barcelona receive first offer for Ter Stegen as Besiktas make their move

Besiktas have presented a formal loan proposal to Barcelona for Marc-Andre ter Stegen, covering the German goalkeeper’s wages and including a purchase option worth around eight million euros at the end of the season.

Barcelona have received the first official offer for their goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, with Besiktas emerging as the main contender for his signature. According to Fanatik, the Turkish club have submitted a loan proposal covering the player’s full salary until the end of the current season.

The offer also includes a non-mandatory purchase option worth approximately eight million euros next June, matching his current market valuation. Barcelona are willing to allow Ter Stegen to leave in January if he expresses the desire to do so.

At this stage, no progress has been made as the Spanish club expect more proposals in the coming weeks. Besiktas are in urgent need of a goalkeeper due to the inconsistent performances of veteran Mert Gunok.

The Istanbul side consider the German to be the most reliable option both for the present and for the club’s long-term project. A key factor behind the move is Besiktas sporting director, Eduard Graf, who developed much of his career at Borussia Dortmund.

His German connection is seen as a key element in convincing Ter Stegen and his entourage to consider the transfer. The Turkish club intend to offer him regular playing time in both the domestic competition and the Europa League, leaving the door open for the goalkeeper to decide his future next summer.
