One of Europe’s most prolific goal-scoring centre-backs available as free agent this summer

The future of Union Berlin centre-back Danilho Doekhi is up in the air, as the Dutchman wants to leave the German club as a free agent this summer, although he could do so even earlier in January as several clubs are interested in him, according to Sky Sports Germany.

It seems that Danilho Doekhi’s spell at Union Berlin will soon come to an end. The Dutch centre-back is one of the fittest players in Europe and has attracted interest from several clubs in England, Spain and Germany.

The 27-year-old defender’s contract with the Bundesliga side expires at the end of the current season, so he looks set to be the big bargain of the upcoming summer transfer window, unless another team makes a move before then.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the former Vitesse player could leave in January, as his five goals this season have made him one of the most prolific scoring centre-backs in Europe so far and have put him on the radar of several European clubs.

Doekhi joined Union Berlin in the summer of 2022 from Vitesse, becoming a key player in the German club’s defence, for which he has played 112 official matches, scoring 14 goals and providing two assists
