Real Madrid’s new player was officially presented at the Santiago Bernabeu on Monday, with his new number: Vinicius’ 20. As a result, the Brazilian will take over Madrid’s legendary number 7 number left vacant by Hazard.
Several changes of shirt number are underway at Real Madrid. The return to the club of Fran Garcia, the ‘Merengues’ first official signing for the 2023/24 season, has shaken up the club’s shirt numbers.
Numbers 7 and 11, vacant since the departures of Eden Hazard and Marco Asensio, are held by two new owners.
Vinicius Junior has taken the legendary number 7, worn in the Merengue club’s glorious past by Cristiano Ronaldo and Raul, while Rodrygo has been handed the number 11.
The number 20 jersey, left vacant by Vini, now belongs to Fran Garcia, Madrid’s new left-back. He was officially presented with his new shirt at the Bernabeu on Monday morning.
