According to the ‘Mirror’, Arsenal are willing to sign Brentford forward Ivan Toney in the January transfer window to bolster their attack.
Brentford striker Ivan Toney was the Premier League’s third-highest goalscorer last season with 20 goals and helped Brentford to a ninth-place finish.
However, he still hasn’t played a minute this campaign because he was suspended from all football-related activity for eight months over breaches of betting rules. The 27-year-old could return to action in January, just in time for the transfer window.
According to the ‘Mirror’, several top clubs such as Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal want to secure his services but he is reportedly interested in a move to the Emirates Stadium.
Spanish coach Mikel Arteta wants to strengthen his attack in the January transfer window but the Bees will demand a minimum of £60 million for his transfer. The English striker fits into the Arsenal squad and could play in their colours from January.
Moreover, Brentford manager Thomas Frank admitted in an interview that they are willing to sell him for a good price: “I think every club in the world are a selling club except five or six clubs. We are a selling club, if the right price is there and I think it’s the right time for the players to go.”
