Chelsea struggled to beat Leeds, twice taking the lead before Gallagher’s 90th-minute winner saw them through.
Injury-plagued Liverpool secured a 3-0 win over Southampton with a starting eleven full of youngsters. Elsewhere, Wolves beat Brighton with a goal in the second minute that they managed to hold on to for the whole game.
