Manchester United have decided to break their silence on the allegations that winger Antony has been accused of assaulting his ex-partner. The Red Devils have issued a statement on their official website in which they make clear their position on the issue.
“Manchester United acknowledges the allegations made against Antony and notes that the Police are conducting enquiries. Pending further information, the club will be making no further comments,” wrote the Mancunian side.
“As a club, we are taking this matter seriously, with consideration of the impact of these allegations and subsequent reporting will have on survivors of abuse,” concludes the statement.
It should be recalled that the former Ajax player has been dropped from Brazil’s squad list for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers over the alleged allegations.
