Real Madrid are set to start a new round of talks with River Plate to establish some details of the deal for the transfer of Franco Mastantuono, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Franco Mastantuono is one of the young players on everyone’s lips in Argentina after the 16-year-old playmaker has already made 11 official appearances for River Plate’s first team, scoring two goals.
This has attracted interest from Real Madrid, who have been monitoring his situation for some months now. ‘Los Blancos’ see the Argentine gem as a ‘new Fede Valverde’ and are ready to go all out for him, continuing the policy of signing young talent that has characterised the Spanish side in recent years.
Mastantuono recently renewed his contract with the ‘Millonario’ until 2026, but has a clause of 45 million euros. However, the La Liga champions will try to negotiate for a transfer fee rather than enforce the clause in his contract.
In fact, the ‘Merengues’ are planning to start a new round of talks with the Argentinian club to discuss the potential structure of the deal for the promising midfielder. The Italian journalist also confirmed that there is still no official proposal from the Spanish club.
