Romelu Lukaku is reportedly ready to reduce his salary in order to help extend his stay at Inter, but Chelsea also need to give a discount on the loan.
The centre-forward has made it clear many times that he is happy at San Siro and regrets making the €113m transfer to Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2021.
He returned a year later on loan for €8m and is finally finding his form again after a season full of injury problems.
Preparing for the Champions League Final against Manchester City and Coppa Italia Final with Fiorentina, Lukaku is eager to make his mark also so he can convince Inter to keep him for another year.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Belgium international is prepared to reduce his salary to help push the deal through, but two other situations also have to happen.
Inter must finish in the top four and therefore qualify for the Champions League, while Chelsea have to give them a discount on the €8m cost of a one-season loan.
