Despite making two midfield acquisitions this summer already, Liverpool now look likely to see that good work unravel, as Fabinho and Jordan Henderson are now both close to moves to the Saudi Pro-League. ‘Daily Mail’ has named some possible replacements available to the Reds, as they look to add more reinforcements to their squad.

Liverpool are likely to face some more big departures this summer, as two more players are close to leaving the club for the Saudi Pro-League. Having already lost striker Firmino to Al-Ahli, the next two close to an exit are midfielders Fabinho and Jordan Henderson.

The English international is closing on a move to Al Ettifaq, where he would join former Liverpool teammate and legend, Steven Gerrard, who was recently hired as the club’s manager. Fabinho did not travel with the Reds on their pre-season tour, after a bid arrived from Al-Ittihad, and the Brazilian looks likely to join Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kante at the club.

This means, despite the arrivals of midfielders Alexis MacAllister and Dominik Szoboszlai, Jurgen Klopp needs to make more acquisitions to boost his squad. There are several options reportedly on Liverpool’s short list, according to ‘Daily Mail’, and some are more realistic than others.

One name highlighted by several Premier League clubs is Romeo Lavia. The 19-year-old lacks experience, but performed well in his appearances for the now-relegated Southampton, and would certainly be an investment for the Reds.

Another option could be Fiorentina’s Soyan Amrabat, who was key for Morocco at the World Cup. He is out of contract next summer, which could knock down his price, and was a mainstay for his Serie A side, making 49 appearances last season.

Real Madrid’s Aurelien Tchouameni is also reportedly on the wishlist, but may be more difficult to close on. Although the youngster will be competing for minutes at Madrid thanks to the signings of Jude Bellingham and Arda Guler, alongside club mainstays Toni Kroos and Luka Modric, he apparently has little desire to leave the Santiago Bernabeu and would not come cheap.

One final option sits in the Premier League as Manchester City’s Kalvin Phillips. The English international has struggled to get game time with the Cityzens through injuries and the competition he faced within the squad. He was key for Leeds before his move to Manchester, and Liverpool could look to utilise his experience and energy to bring depth to their midfield.
