Kylian Mbappe was asked about his future at Paris Saint-Germain and his possible arrival at Real Madrid. The French striker evaded the questions and assured that he has nothing to announce.
Kylian Mbappe is and will be the big name of the upcoming summer transfer window. The striker has reportedly told Paris Saint-Germain that he will not be renewing his contract, something that Luis Enrique has indirectly announced every time he has been asked.
The Bondy-born player, at the press conference ahead of the friendly against Germany, knew he was going to have to answer questions about his future. But Kylian Mbappe avoided commenting on his future other than to say that he has nothing to say.
“I have still not announced anything on my future as I’ve nothing to announce. I’ve always said that when I have something to announce, I’ll do it as a man. I’ve never been in hiding. Sorry to disappoint you, but I have nothing juicy to announce“, said Mbappe.
“I will be focused on the France national team when the European Championship comes around. I think it will be settled by then. I’m focused on the national team,” he said of when he will say where he will play next season.
The striker was also asked about his fitness: “I feel good at the moment, not too tired. I have time. The European Championship is a long way off. I’m ready to adapt to any situation,” added the striker.
The Olympic Games
Kylian Mbappe has stated that he wants to be at the 2024 Paris Olympics, something that clashes with Real Madrid’s plans, if that is his final destination, as the ‘merengue’ club does not want to release any player, especially not to play in the European Championship and the Olympics.
“I always wanted to play at the Olympics and my desire has not changed. If I play the Olympics then it will be a dream, but if I’m not allowed to, then I will do as I’m told. The decision is still up to one person and they haven’t told me yes or no”.
