Erling Haaland remains at the top of the goalscoring charts after matchday 37 of the 2022/23 Premier League. The Norwegian has scored 36 goals, with Harry Kane (28) and Ivan Toney (20) behind him.
The Premier League was already a home of great strikers, but in this 2022-23 season it has become a galaxy of strikers who aspire to win the ‘Golden Boot’, the trophy for the top scorer in the domestic competition.
Erling Haaland and Darwin Nunez‘s signings were the main boost, although there were also internal moves that could bolster the careers of players such as Gabriel Jesus, Richarlison and Sterling. Nor are the classics like Harry Kane or Mohamed Salah missing from the race.
Precisely Salah and Heung-min Son shared the last award after drawing at 23 goals, which was the third one for the Egyptian striker in his career. The same ones that Kane has won and that Alan Shearer, the top scorer in the history of the championship, was awarded.
However, who owns the most Premier League Golden Boots is Thierry Henry. The Frenchman achieved four, the first of them in the 2001-02 season. Two years later, in Arsenal’s golden era, the striker won the other three in a row: 2003-04 (30), 2004-05 (25) and 2005-06 (27).
