Harry Kane has finally been announced as a new Bayern Munich player. Spurs’ all-time top scorer has signed a four-year contract with the German club, who agreed a deal with the Premier League side for 100 million fixed and 20 million in add-ons.

After a tug-of-war between the English club and the German club, the two clubs reached an agreement on the transfer of the English striker for 100 million euros and a 20-million package. The only thing missing was the green light for the England international, who finally made the decision to start a new adventure in the Bundesliga.

In this way, Bayern Munich has finally landed a No.9 who is guaranteed to score more than 30 goals per season. After the departure of Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona, the German team suffered a goal drought last season due to the absence of a pure No.9. However, Thomas Tuchel now has his lethal striker to start the season.

Harry Kane thus leaves Tottenham after 12 seasons as an absolute legend. The 30-year-old striker has made 435 official appearances for the London club, 385 as a starter, scoring a whopping 280 goals and providing 60 assists.

Chairman Daniel Levy admitted in the club’s statement that they had try to keep the striker, but “Harry was clear …that he wanted a fresh challenge and would not be signing a new contract this summer. We have reluctantly, therefore, agreed to his transfer“.

“I should like to thank Harry for everything he’s done for us, all the memories, all the records –  we wish him and his family all the best for the future. It goes without saying, he’s always welcome back. He’s a much loved and valued member of the Spurs family, forever in our history.”

Bayern’s statement welcomed their “top-quality new arrival“. It continued: “Harry Kane was our absolute dream player right from the start. He is a perfect fit for us and the club’s DNA in terms of both football and character“.

Kane himself said, “I’m very happy to be a part of FC Bayern now. Bayern is one of the biggest clubs in the world, and I’ve always said that I want to compete and prove myself at the highest level during my career. This club is defined by its winning mentality – it feels very good to be here.”
