Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has been sent home early from the Portugal squad but is not expected to return to Manchester until after the international break.
Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes, who was on international duty with Portugal during the international break, has been sent home early.
The Portuguese star was a key player in Roberto Martinez’s side’s previous friendly match in which they beat Sweden 5-2 in Guimaraes and where the Red Devils player scored the third goal for the Portuguese in the 45th minute of the match.
Although the player will leave the Portugal squad, he is still not expected to return to Manchester United until after the international break as the club has given Bruno Fernandes a break ahead of the Premier League game against Brentford on 30 March.
Roberto Martinez has also sent other players home apart from the Manchester United midfielder such as Bernardo Silva, Ruben Dias, Joao Palhinha, Nelson Semedo, Toti Gomes, Rafael Leao and Goncalo Ramos.
“There are another eight players who will arrive at a high level for the second game, with hunger and a lot of energy, I hope,” said Roberto Martinez.
