Arsenal announced on Friday the retained list of players for 2023 in the Premier League. The Gunners will let 13 players leave while Reiss Nelson’s future remains uncertain.
Mikel Arteta’s side have announced their list of retained players they have sent to the Premier League for the upcoming 2023/24 season.
The Gunners will be without 13 players from their current squad. Ainsley Maitland-Niles, who has been on loan at Southampton this season, will leave Arsenal after playing for the academy since 2012.
“Words can’t describe how I’m feeling to be honest, it’s been a very emotional journey. Having supported the club growing up and coming through the ranks, I can only be happy with what I’ve achieved since I’ve been here,” said the midfielder on his farewell.
Meanwhile, Reiss Nelson’s future at the Emirates Stadium remains uncertain as the board have offered him another renewal but the striker has yet to make a decision.
If the Englishman decides not to extend his contract, he could leave as a free agent at the end of June but it is quite likely that he will renew his current contract for at least one or two seasons.
