Real Madrid in the wings as Davies asks Bayern for €16m salary

Alphonso Davies and Bayern are in talks to decide the full-back’s future. The player, according to ‘Bild’, is asking for a salary of 16 million per year, a figure that is far from the maximum 13 million that Munich are willing to offer him. Meanwhile, Madrid want the defender, but do not want to pay the 50 million euros demanded by the Bavarians.

Alphonso Davies‘ contract with Bayern expires next summer, which means that this is the last big market in which the Bavarians can cash in on his sale. They have 2 options: try to renew him or sell him if they don’t want him to leave for free in 2025.

Bayern are trying to convince the player to stay in Munich. ‘Bild’ claims that both parties have recently sat down to negotiate, although there is no agreement at the moment.

Davies is seeking 16 million euros plus a bonus just to stay at Bayern. At the moment, the German side have not gone beyond 13 million euros and it does not look like they are going to reach the figure the player is demanding. Even so, the defender has considerably lowered his demands as time has gone by. He started asking for 20 million a year and now he would settle for 16 million, but he is still three million away from the Bavarian side.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid have opted to wait patiently. ‘AS’ claims that ‘Los Blancos’ are not willing to pay the 50 million euros demanded by Bayern for the left-back. They know that time is on their side and believe that, if the talks between Bayern and Davies do not come to fruition, the German institution will have no choice but to give in on the price they are asking for him.
