According to ‘AS’, Real Madrid have long been looking for a centre-back to bolster their defence and Leny Yoro, who plays for Lille, has emerged as the main contender to join the Spanish side. His high price tag will make Madrid wait for his services until 2025, when his contract expires.
Leny Yoro has been on Real Madrid’s agenda for some time. The Lille centre-back has everything to succeed at the Santiago Bernabeu due to his potential and talent. As a result, the Madrid board are working to secure his services.
The defender has a contract with Lille until 2025 and the French club are asking for a large fee to let him leave. According to ‘AS’, they are currently asking for 100 million euros, which Real Madrid are not considering paying, but that hasn’t dampened the Spanish club’s interest one iota.
The same media outlet reports that Real Madrid have made him their top priority for the next window. They will wait as long as it takes for Lille to give in and lower the exaggerated price.
The Spanish side are clear: if Lille do not give in, they will wait until 2025 to negotiate with him. But this is the last option, as Ancelotti’s backline is waiting for a place for him and ideally he should join the team as soon as possible.
According to ‘AS’, Real Madrid are moving to tie down Yoro. In fact, they have already taken the first strategic steps and the transfer seems to be “on the right track“. Although PSG are also interested, the player is attracted by the option of joining the club presided over by Florentino Perez.
Injuries to Eder Militao and David Alaba this season have prompted Madrid to look to the market for a centre-back. Rafa Marin will return from his loan spell at Alaves this summer, but ‘Los Blancos’ are still unsure whether he will stay or whether they will seek a new loan move.
