Man Utd’s Pellistri agrees to join Granada on loan

Fabrizio Romano reports that Facundo Pellistri, who plays for Manchester United, has agreed to go on loan to Granada for the remainder of the season. It would be a major signing for the Andalusian side, who are waiting for Erik ten Hag to give the go-ahead for the deal.

It has been more than three years since Manchester United signed Facundo Pellistri from Penarol. He has never won an important place under Erik ten Hag, who, in this first half of the season, has only put him on the pitch 14 times, 3 of them as a starter. For this reason, Granada have contacted the Old Trafford offices to propose a loan move to La Liga until the summer.

Fabrizio Romano, an expert on the transfer market, reported the deal on his social networks. The Italian said that the deal needs the green light from the Dutch coach. They already have that of the player, who was at Alaves, also on loan, for part of the 20-21 campaign and all of the 21-22. Thanks to this, his playing time has increased in comparison to those that had marked his first few seasons in England, although they remained low.

If the Andalusian side manage to bring him in, they will improve their performances considerably, a boost that could be key to improving the drift of a team that is fighting to avoid relegation to the second division. For the moment, Granada sit 19th in the championship with 11 points, five more than Almería and five less than Cádiz. Celta are top of the relegation table with 17 points, 6 more.

It is precisely because of this situation that Pellistri may have looked so favourably on his potential move to Granada. On a personal level, he has been getting into the call-ups of his national team and he will want to continue in the same dynamic. This could be a good opportunity to do so.
