Brazilian forward Raphinha, who is suffering from a muscle injury, gave an interview to ‘Sport’ and said he is making good progress in his recovery. The 26-year-old wants to be available to play in ‘El Clasico’ but it is still uncertain.
‘El Clasico’ between Barcelona and Real Madrid is just around the corner. The Catalan giants will host Carlo Ancelotti’s men at the Lluis Companys stadium on 28th October. It will be a crucial meeting for both sides as they battle for the top of the table.
The Catalan side are plagued by injuries at the moment. Raphinha, who suffered a muscle injury in the La Liga match against Sevilla, gave an interview to ‘Sport’ and spoke about his current condition.
“I don’t know if I will be available for ‘El Clasico’ but I want to play against Madrid,” he claimed. The same media outlet reports that the Brazilian is making good progress in his recovery. However, Spanish coach Xavi Hernandez does not want to risk him.
Raphinha has missed the games against Porto (Champions League) and Granada (LaLiga) and is likely to remain injured for the matches against Athletic (LaLiga) and Shakhtar Donetsk (Champions League).
