Juventus have officially begun the administrative process to withdraw from the European Super League project. To do so, they must have the prior consent of Barcelona, Real Madrid and other clubs involved in the competition.

On 6th June, Juventus announced their intention to leave the European Super League and leave Real Madrid and Barcelona alone. Five weeks later, the process to do so has already begun.

“Press release with which Juventus announced that it had initiated a period of talks between Real Madrid and Barcelona (clubs that until then had not announced their intention to leave the European Super League project) in relation to the decision proposed by Juventus to leave it,” the ‘Bianconeri’ stated at the beginning of a brief press release.

The ‘Vecchia Signora’ announced that “taking into account some differences on the understanding of the agreements applicable to the ESL, it confirms that it has initiated the procedure to exit from the project”.

“At the same time, it recalls that, in accordance with the applicable contractual provisions, the prior consent of Real Madrid, Barcelona and the other clubs involved in the European Super League project is required for the withdrawal to take effect,” the club said.
