Sofyan Amrabat, who has been approached by Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, now seems closer to a move to Manchester United.
“We haven’t received any offers for Amrabat. For the moment, he’s staying here,” said Fiorentina president Joe Barone a few days ago. The ‘Viola’ chief added that, despite numerous rumours, no club had yet made an offer for the Moroccan.
The first to make a move may well be Manchester United. According to Florian Plettenberg, the Red Devils are targeting the midfielder and are not ruling out making an offer in the next few days. However, the German journalist points out that, for the time being, only discussions between the parties have taken place.
Over the past few weeks, Amrabat’s name has been linked with a move to Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona, but Fiorentina have no intention of selling their player and are waiting around €30 million to let him go.
Amrabat, who enjoyed a remarkable World Cup in Qatar with the Atlas Lions, joined the Italian club in January 2020 for €19.5 million.
