Real Madrid announced on Thursday that Arda Guler, who played for Fenerbahce, has signed with the Spanish giants until 2029.
Good news for Real Madrid. The Spanish giants have managed to sign Arda Guler from Fenerbahce despite interest from Barcelona. The midfielder will play in a Madrid shirt until 2029.
“Arda Guler (Ankara, Turkey, 25/02/2005) is now a Real Madrid player. Our club adds to its squad in the form of one of the hottest young prospects in world football;” they wrote on their website.
Several European clubs such as Sevilla and AC Milan were also targeting him but Florentino Perez’s offer tempted the youngster. The playmaker will swap the Turkish league for La Liga at just 18 years of age and has a promising future in one of the best teams in the world.
The Turk will be part of Madrid’s new midfield following Jude Bellingham’s arrival from Borussia Dortmund and will be able to learn from the experience of Luka Modric and Toni Kroos.
The 18-year-old has been a surprise package this past season. The international leaves Fenerbahce having scored nine goals in 51 competitive matches for the Turkish side.
Guler has signed a long-term deal with Carlo Ancelotti’s side and will play for six seasons at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium. He will be presented as a new Madrid player on Friday.
