Undoubtedly one of the young stars attracting interest from big clubs is Ajax defender Jurrien Timber. The 22-year-old centre-back has been outstanding for Ajax this season and has even managed to make Manchester United and Liverpool keep an eye on him.
However, another English club is reportedly interested in adding him to their squad for next season. Arsenal will try to go all out for the promising youngster in order to strengthen their defence for next season.
The Gunners made a bid of 30 million for the player but Ajax rejected it, with Heitinga’s side demanding at least 50 million to let one of their key players leave.
Now, in the last few hours transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano has reported that the London club will push in the next few hours or days to bring the young centre-back to the Emirates Stadium. Furthermore, the player reportedly sees the English club as an excellent and attractive project for his future.
Jurrien Timber, who at only 22 years of age has already been capped several times for the Netherlands, has made 48 official appearances this season, scoring 2 goals and providing 2 assists, being one of the leaders of his current club’s defence.
