The Gunners will make a second, improved offer for Chelsea forward Kai Havertz, after having their initial offer rejected by their London rivals. The sale would be good for Chelsea, who are looking to target £100m Brighton midfielder Caicedo, reports ‘Daily Mail’.
Arsenal have made an improved offer, as they attempt to sign Chelsea forward Kai Havertz. Their initial bid of £50 million was rejected last week by the Blues, and now ‘Daily Mail’ reports that talks have continued and now the Gunners have submitted a second bid, worth £60 million.
The new package is reportedly £55 million with an extra £5 million in bonuses. The outlet claims that the offer is verbal, but Arsenal are looking to seal the deal quickly, and have already broadly agreed personal terms with the German.
Havertz’s contract would be long-term and worth somewhere in the region of £210,000-a-week. Chelsea are looking to make sales this summer, as they need to shed some of their own large and expensive squad.
The Blues announced on Tuesday the signing of RB Leipzig’s Christopher Nkunku, and are also targeting Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo. But the Ecuadorian will come with a £100 million price tag, and the London team need to raise some funds before they can commit that kind of money.
Although they value Havertz closer to £75 million, they may decide it’s in their best interests to accept Arsenal’s second offer.
Arsenal’s latest offer for Kai Havertz is £60m (£55+5m), as called by @SamiMokbel81_DM. Havertz wants the move and Arsenal have always felt Chelsea will drop their £75m asking price. Talks still positive.🇩🇪 pic.twitter.com/JpSpmtkSwP
