Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is aware that his squad need to be reinforced for next season. The Dutchman could ship 12 players out at the end of the season, according to the ‘Daily Mail’.
Manchester United returned to lifting a trophy after almost six years without winning any silverware. Erik ten Hag’s arrival has helped the Red Devils with their performances and they managed to win the Carabao Cup title this season.
They have reached the Champions League places to play in Europe’s biggest competition and the Dutchman wants to make ‘several’ changes to the squad to bring them up to the required level next campaign.
In fact, the 53-year-old told a press conference that his squad “could be improved”: “There is still a lot of room for improvement in the squad,” he said.
According to the ‘Daily Mail’, the Manchester United boss is willing to ship 12 players out. Harry Maguire, Anthony Martial, Fred, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Scott McTominay and Dean Henderson could leave the English side in the summer.
These players have at least two years left on their contract but Ten Hag expects that they will not continue in the team when the pre-season starts.
The same media outlet reports that Phil Jones, Eric Bailly, Axel Tuanzebe, Alex Telles, Brandon Williams and Ethan Galbraith are very likely to leave United in the next transfer window as the Dutchman will not have them in his plans.
They have more than one year left on their contracts but the Old Trafford outfit are keen to let them leave. Both the board and Ten Hag hope to raise money from these transfers in order to sign their main target Harry Kane.
