“I’m here to help Man United” – Van Nistelrooy keen to stay at Red Devils

Ruud Van Nistelrooy took charge of his first game as Manchester United’s interim manager and led the Red Devils into the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup. The Dutchman said he is up to what the club needs in view of the fact that he will soon be replaced by Amorim.

Manchester United could not have made a better start to their post-Ten Hag era under Ruud Van Nistelrooy. The Red Devils thrashed Leicester 5-2 to book their place in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup.

However, this could be the Dutchman’s first and last game in charge of the Mancunian side, as it has been confirmed in recent days that Sporting Lisbon coach Ruben Amorim is close to signing as Manchester United’s new manager.

Ruud Van Nistelrooy spoke at a press conference about his future after the win over the Foxes and made it clear that he is at the club to help with whatever it takes and that he will give his all to help them get out of the situation they are in.

“I’m here to help Man United and give my everything for the club in any capacity. I’m helping as long as needed. In the future in any capacity, I’m here to help the club further to build towards the future. That will never change,” he said.
