OFFICIAL: Jhon Duran signs new long-term contract with Villa

Jhon Duran has extended his contract with Aston Villa until June 2030 as a reward for his commitment to the Villains and his recent good performances, the Birmingham club announced on Monday.

Jhon Duran, who joined Aston Villa in 2023 from Major League Soccer side Chicago Fire, has emerged as this season’s surprise package. The Colombian forward has scored six goals in ten competitive games this campaign.

The 20-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from Villa Park in previous transfer windows but he decided to remain committed to the Villains to prove his worth. As a result, the board have decided to reward him for his determination with the Birmingham club.

“Aston Villa is delighted to announce that Jhon Duran has signed a new contract with the club until 2030,” they wrote on their website. Duran reportedly signed his new six-season contract on Monday morning along with his manager Unai Emery and the club’s sporting director Monchi.
