The Manchester City manager told the press conference after the Champions League draw against Inter that De Bruyne was substituted at half-time with a knock and that they will assess whether he can play in Sunday’s Premier League game against Arsenal.
Manchester City’s debut in the Champions League 20245/25 did not go as expected for the Cityzens’ fans. The Mancunians, as well as dropping points after being held to a goalless draw at home to Inter, received bad news regarding Kevin de Bruye.
The Belgian midfielder started for the Sky Blues against the Serie A side but was substituted at half-time after picking up a heavy knock in the first half. Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola told a news conference that he would have more information on Thursday and could not yet confirm whether he would miss Sunday’s game against Arsenal.
“I’ll have more info on his conditions on Thursday. Back to face Arsenal? We’ll see from tomorrow”, said the former Bayern Munich coach.
It is undoubtedly another injury setback for the Belgian midfielder, who already accumulates 27 career injuries and missed 41 games of the 2023/24 season also due to injury.
