Nico Williams’ agent Felix Tainta, gave an interview to “Cadena SER” in which he reviewed the busy summer in terms of possible destinations for the Spanish footballer. However, the agent, faced with interest from Barcelona, admitted that it was the player himself who decided to stay at the Basque club for another year.
The possible signing of Nico Williams by Barcelona has been one of the summer’s hot topics and has given much to discuss. Now that the transfer window has closed, the issue has cooled down, although there has been no end of talk about what happened during the summer window.
On this occasion, the player’s agent, Felix Tainta, spoke about what happened with his client in an interview with Cadena SER: “The boy has decided to continue for another year. We are here to work, to support him in all his decisions and to advise him”.
He added: “He wanted to stay. It’s proof that when a player wants to stay at a club he stays and when he wants to leave he leaves. It’s not the agent who puts a gun to his head and says ‘go’, I want you to come wherever I want you to.”
Tainta also wanted to make it clear that, at all times, the decision is the player’s and not the agent’s: “The player and the family have freedom of choice.”
