Although Bayern made a strong bid for Lucas Bergvall, Bacelona are likely to be his next destination. According to ‘Sport’, the 17-year-old midfielder from Djurgardens IF in Sweden is already in Spain. Only a few details remain to be finalised before he joins the Catalan giants next summer.
Barcelona have been tracking Lucas Bergvall for some time now and it seems that they are very close to signing him. The midfielder is reportedly already in Spain, on the verge of signing for the ‘Cules’.
It is not yet closed, but the move could be finalised in the next few hours. Bergvall will meet with the board of directors to discuss his future.
Barcelona would be willing to pay 7 million fixed plus 3 million in variables for him. Swedish side Djurgardens IF would be happy with that amount, so there would be no problems in that sense.
Fabrizio Romano adds to this ‘Sport’ report that the player has already had a first approach with Barcelona on Tuesday with positive feelings on both sides. Deco, Barca’s sporting director, hopes that the deal will be finalised before Sunday, when Bergvall will return to his native country.
Bergvall would join Barcelona in the summer and, if this news is confirmed, it will be a blow for Bayern, who bid until the last moment for this talent. They even offered 9 million euros, but it seems that the ‘Cules’ project has attracted more interest in the young Bergvall.
