Chelsea midfielder Romeo Lavia’s ankle injury is more serious than expected and the player could miss at least six weeks of competition, according to the ‘Daily Mail’.
Romeo Lavia joined Chelsea from recently relegated Southampton at the end of the summer, but has yet to make his debut for the Blues.
Already without Reece James, Wesley Fofana, Trevoh Chalobah, Christopher Nkunku and Carney Chukwuemeka, Pochettino’s side have suffered another blow as they will not be able to count on the former Southampton midfielder, who has an ankle injury.
According to the ‘Daily Mail’, the problem is more serious than expected, with the Belgian set to miss six weeks of competitive action, including a number of Premier League fixtures such as the visits of Aston Villa, Arsenal and Manchester City, as well as the trip to Tottenham.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men, who sit 12th in the domestic championship after four rounds, will have to cope with what is available next weekend when they travel to Bournemouth. Connor Gallagher is expected to start in midfield once again.
