Joao Felix has made it clear that he wants to join Barcelona. According to ‘Sport’ he will turn down any offer that reaches him, as his only intention is only to join the Catalans. Atletico would let him leave, but they have one condition: he won’t go for nothing.
Joao Felix recently said that his first choice had always to join Barcelona. “It would be a dream come true”, he declared. The Catalans are reportedly entering conversations with Atletico to try and reach a solution over the Portuguese forward.
According to ‘Sport’, the youngster has made it clear he will only leave Atletico to join Barcelona. He is planning to turn down any other offer that reaches his agent, Jorge Mendes.
Xavi Hernandez likes the player, but the club has not made a move because they’re waiting to sell some players first. Barca would be interested in the Portuguese star, but only if he arrives on loan with a non-compulsory option to buy, and therein lies the problem.
‘Mundo Deportivo’ adds that Atletico are not thinking of giving the striker away. They would be willing to loan Joao Felix to the ‘Cules’ as long as Barca commit to pay his wages. In that case, the operation would cost the Catalans around 20 million euros.
And, in case Joao Felix ends up moving to Camp Nou, Atletico have identified two possible replacements, according to ‘Relevo’. They are Borja Iglesias, from Betis, and Mateo Retegui, from Boca Juniors.
