Barcelona feel that UEFA’s fine for Financial Fair Play breaches is excessive, after the organisation hit them for errors in the declaration of profits in the 2022 financial year. The club, according to ‘Carrusel Deportivo’, is planning to appeal the decision.

Barcelona have been sanctioned 500,000 euros by UEFA, for errors in their declaration of profits in 2022. However, the club do not agree with the fine, and are planning to appeal it.

Sources within the Catalan club have told ‘Carrusel Deportivo’, a program by ‘Cadena SER’, that they don’t agree with UEFA’s Economic Control Committee. They maintain that all the operations they carried out that year were approved by La Liga.

UEFA understands that there were errors in the profit statement and therefore opted to penalise the club financially. Barca have already made it clear that they won’t sit back and do nothing.

The club considers the sanction disproportionate and intends to go as far as necessary. It remains to be seen whether this appeal will be successful and, in any case, whether it will be enough to get rid of the fine.
