Girona hope and wish that Oriol Romeu does not end up signing for FC Barcelona. However, Pere Guardiola acknowledged that there will soon be a meeting with Mateu Alemany to discuss the issue.

The outcome of the Oriol Romeu trasnfer saga is getting closer, and Girona are reluctant to lose him. The club’s president Pere Guardiola spoke about his possible future with the ‘Cules’.

Pere Guardiola is crossing his fingers that Girona can keep the player. “If Barca want to do us a favor, they better not sign Oriol,” he said in statements reported by ‘Marca’.

He also assured that they are still counting on the player for next season. On the other hand, Guardiola confirmed that they have already discussed the issue with Mateu Alemany, the Catalan giants sporting director, and soon there will be a new meeting.

Finally, Pere mentioned the possibility of including Barca players in the deal: “That is a question for the sports management, it has nothing to do with Oriol’s transfer”.
