According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Paris Saint-Germain will activate Xavi Simons’ buyback clause in order for him to return from PSV next season. However, the final decision is up to the midfielder.
Xavi Simons left Paris Saint-Germain last season to join PSV and play in the Eredivisie. However, the French club are keen to bring back their youngster. The midfielder scored 21 goals in 44 appearances last term.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Parc des Princes outfit want to activate his buyback clause so that he can play in a PSG shirt next campaign.
His contract with PSV includes the option to buy back his transfer for just £5.1 million and the Dutch side can do nothing about it as they agreed to it when they signed his contract.
Neverheless, the same media outlet reports that the final decision will be up to the 20-year-old and he will have to decide whether he wants to return to France, look for a new destination or stay in the Eredivisie.
Simons will have to make a decision before the end of July. Meanwhile, Arsenal and Newcastle are keeping an eye on his situation.
