According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City are preparing an official offer to RB Leipzig to sign Josko Gvardiol after hearing of his interest in playing at the Etihad Stadium next campaign.
RB Leipzig’s sporting director, Max Eberl confirmed on Sunday that his club were in talks with Manchester City over Josko Gvardiol, after the centre-back expressed his desire to join the champions of Europe.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the English side are already preparing their official bid to sign the Croatian. Pep Guardiola’s team verbally offered 75 million euros plus add-ons but their offer was rejected.
The same media outlet reports that Marco Rose’s side will not let their top player leave for less than 100 million euros and are expecting a higher offer for the centre-back.
The Croatia international could become the most expensive defender in history if City offer that amount. The Etihad Stadium outfit already reached a verbal agreement with the 21-year-old a week ago.
