As the summer transfer window continues, Real Madrid continue looking for squad reinforcements. Take a look at their priority targets this summer with our list of top three players.
Real Madrid were unable to beat Manchester City in the Champions League semi-final. The Spanish giants failed to lift their 15th trophy but are working towards a European title next season.
As a result, they are working to improve their squad in the summer transfer window and these are their main targets.
Real Madrid’s summer wishlist
Alphonso Davies
With the possibility of Mendy leaving, Madrid have Alphonso Davies in mind as replacement. The Canadian has been on the club’s radar for some time but it appears that now the club are ready to make their move.
The Canadian has illusions of joining the Spanish giants as their new left-back, and is therefore reportedly putting off negotiating his renewal with Bayern Munich while he waits for Madrid.
However, time is not on the 22-year-old’s side. The Spanish giants could wait until the summer of 2024 to try to incorporate the winger at a lower price than they would have to pay this year.
Kylian Mbappe
As was the case last summer, Kylian Mbappe’s summer romance with Real Madrid is set to continue. Although the Paris Saint-Germain striker has already announced that he will not be extending his contract with his club, he will be out of contract in June 2024 and free to sign wherever he chooses.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side do not yet know if they will make an offer to the French side to secure his services. But, according to several reports in Spain, Madrid will wait until 2024 to sign him as a free agent. We will have to wait and see what decision the Spanish board make.
Meanwhile, the 24-year-old has made it clear to his current club that he will not leave Paris unless a club decides to pay more than 240 million euros for his transfer in the summer, according to ‘Marca’.
Dusan Vlahovic
Madrid are still looking for Karim Benzema’s replacement. Vlahovic is one of the main contenders to take his place.
Faced with the possibility of not signing Kylian Mbappe this summer, they are looking at all their options for their ‘9’, and have turned their attention to bringing Dusan Vlahovic to the club on loan next season.
The Serbian scored 14 goals and provided three assists in 42 competitive matches for Juventus in the 2022/23 season. Furthermore, the 23-year-old is likely to join Madrid as the Italian side need revenue to balance their books.
