Real Madrid released a video on their official media accounts to confirm their four captains for next season: Nacho Fernandez, Luka Modric, Dani Carvajal and Toni Kroos.
Real Madrid have announced their captains for the 2023-24 season. The Spanish giants published a video on their official social media with the names of the chosen four: Nacho Fernandez, Luka Modric, Dani Carvajal and Toni Kroos.
Following the departure of Karim Benzema, who had been the first captain, all eyes were on the Spanish defender, who finally agreed to stay for another season despite rumours of a possible departure.
Academy-graduate Nacho will be the first choice to wear the captain’s arm band, more than a decade after making his debut in the 2010-11 season. Second choice is Modric, who arrived from Premier League side, Tottenham Hotspur in 2012 and third is Carvajal, another creation of Madrid’s academy. Last but by no means least is Kroos, who arrived in the summer of 2014.
“Real Madrid’s captaincy is in good hands!”, read the message published by the club, alongside a video featuring each of the four players and some of their best moments.
